The Author



S’kay Magagane is a young South African who was born to a family of medical doctors with two siblings, a sister and a brother. At the age of thirteen, to the whole family’s bewilderment, Magagane was diagnosed with SLE (Systemic lupus erythematosus) for which there is no cure. She struggled through school and has been battling with the disease for seven years consistently. Her walk is not yet complete, and she constantly looks forward to each day as it comes.
